This lab offers an immersive, mentored experience where students develop essential PR skills—strategic communication, media relations, research, crisis management, and data analytics—as they collaborate with real clients to drive meaningful social impact and uphold BYU’s values of light and truth. Through semester-long, classroom-integrated projects, students analyze audience behavior, craft impactful messaging, monitor media, deploy biometrics testing, and guide organizational strategy via comprehensive reports and presentations. These comprehensive results help to provide the real clients with creative solutions backed by data to solve their communication problems.

Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA) is a national professional organization that enhances students' education by providing access to professional development opportunities, networking experiences, and resources that prepare them for successful careers in the industry. The BYU chapter hosts events and social opportunities while providing exclusive access to scholarships, internships, awards, and competitions. Every year, students are sent to the National Conference to represent BYU’s chapter. The PRI Lab is affiliated with and accredited by BYU’s chapter of PRSSA.
